What is Diethylene glycol ?
Diethylene glycol, also known as diethylene glycol, reacts with an acid anhydride to form an ester. Reaction with alkyl sulfate or halogenated hydrocarbons to form ethers. It is mainly used as a gas dehydrating agent and extractant, and is also used as a lubricant and finishing agent for textiles. It is prepared by the interaction of ethylene oxide with ethylene glycol. Diethylene glycol has been widely used in various cosmetics as a solvent, insulation agent and viscosity control agent.
